Product concept / advantages
You don’t need a full size industrial PC to take these cards – you can use 2U server. With the installation of the UDP provided interface card, you can simply connect the PC and the external box with one cable.
The most important feature is that the PC and encoding functions are separated. This is important logistically, especially for large companies – failed PC’s can go back to the PC vendor and failed capture units can go back to UDP. Otherwise you need a factory / support centre that can handle the combined product, which may be difficult for some companies to provide.
It reduces on-site cabling costs inside the racks. The installer only has to install the PC and the BMP4000EX and the rack is ready to have video connected to it via BNC connectors. There is no need to install cabling from the card connectors to the back of the rack.
The box replaces several cards the MP3000 + Digital I/O.
If you want to make 16 channels DVR system, this solution could be very useful.
