European hazardous substances directive
The Restrictions of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (2002/95/EC). The RoHS or "Lead Free" legislation was drafted by the European Parliament and applies to certain electrical and electronic equipment sold in the member states of the EU. It virtually eliminates the use of six hazardous substances from the manufacturing process.
UDP’s role
UDP is conscious of the environmental impact of electrical equipment hardware manufacturing and therefore follows the procedures outlined in the above directive in all its products regardless of where they may be supplied in the world.
